Initial dissection and definitions

To begin looking into my given question closer I carried a few basic Google searches to pick at and dissect some of the key words - Theory, Inform and Practice.

3 Repeated exercise in or performance of an activity or skill so as to acquire or maintain proficiency in it.

Just this simple, quick exercise has already helped me to look at the question in a different way. Rather than thinking about the theory of practice, in the sense of putting an idea into practice, I’m now moving more towards defining practice as the repetition of an exercise.

Maybe I need to be thinking about the idea of performing an activity over and over, and how by doing that can we inform our working practices?

We usually consider ‘working practices’ as the way that our work or job is predominantly carried out. How we go about our profession to complete the job at hand. So maybe the question is, can repeating an activity inform or improve how we carry out our work?
